Carrie’s curiosity led her to college, to a career in journalism, and finally to becoming the leader of the women’s suffrage movement.

Carrie knew the movement needed a change. She set out to shake up suffrage, daring millions to question a women’s right to vote.

On August 18, 1920, Carrie pinned a yellow rose to her dress and waited while lawmakers in Tennessee cast their votes.

After a seventy-two year battle, had the suffragists finally won?
